Lichen plannus is manifested by very itchy, shiny violaceous plane, polygonal papule with wickham’s striae. Etilogy is unknown.
Mostly affected areas are wrists, ankles, shins and lower back. 10-40 age groups mostly affected. Female are more affected than male
Associations:
Oral lesions: burning sensation on eating spicy food, white, reticulate lacey pattern on buccal mucosa, tongue and gingiva
Nails: thinning of nails and pterygium
Scalp: follicular lesions and scarring alopecia
Genital lesions: annular lesions.
Variants are Annular, Actinic, Linear, Follicular, Hypertrophic, Bullous, LP pigmentosus
